Leah

Lead Teacher/Owner (Full-Time)

I love being around children so when I had my own children, I wanted to stay home. My children inspired me to share my home and my culture with other children and their families. I have been working with children since 2002. My education/experience: Early Childhood Education Certificate and AAS (Associate of Applied Science) in Early Childhood Education, I am First Aid, CPR certified, HIV/Blood Pathogen training, Food Handler Permit, 20 hours Building Blocks, and yearly continuing education. I also teach Swahili Language once a week to all age groups.

Larisa

 Full-Time Assistant Teacher

Larisa has been working with Furaha since 2022. She has many years of experience working as a nanny and at the daycare. She is fun, loving, caring, and energetic. She loves to play, read, and help the children learn and thrive. She has 30 hour Childcare Basics, First Aid, CPR, HIV/Blood Pathogen certified, Food Handler Permit, and continuing yearly education

Rachael

Part Time Aide

Rachael has worked with Furaha from 2002-2017 full-time. She’s been an Aide since 2019. She is First Aid, CPR, HIV/Blood Pathogen certified, Food Handler Permit, 20 hours Building Blocks, yearly continuing education. She enjoys helping out when needed and spending time with all children.

What We Offer

We accept infants as young as 3 months old.

The day care is open from 7:45am – 5:30pm Monday – Friday.

We offer parents night out once a month on a Saturday.

We offer a morning preschool/Pre-K program for ages 3 and older that are potty trained.

We study letter formation, numbers, science, art, history, p.e, theater, and Swahili language.
